SCPMA - HR encourages excellence in public sector human resources by offering continuous learning opportunities to develop the next generation of leaders.

Developing Competencies for HR Success is an advanced 4-day training program to help you become an expert in the twenty core human resource competencies contained in the IPMA - HR Competency Model. Visit www.ipma-hr.org for more details about the 20 competencies.

Through discussion, exercises, and assessments using the IPMA - HR model as a vehicle for dialogue about changes happening within and around HR, the program will help you gain expertise on the roles of the Business Partner, HR Leader, and the Change Agent.

Become a IPMA-CP  through the SCPMA. In addition to participating in the certification program at a discounted rate, you will also have the opportunity to network with peers throughout the area.

"From an HR Director's standpoint, I found this training to be extremely valuable to look at issues from an operating department's standpoint. Participants returned to their workplace to look at HR issues more creatively and became more valuable be-cause of this broader perspective."

-- Steve Larson, Retired Human Resources Director, City of Garden Grove

"One of the most valuable aspects of this training is it uses attendees' real-life experience to breathe life into valuable leadership concepts and theories... and build camaraderie through networking opportunities, teamwork and collaboration. "

--Dee Emami, Past President, Channel Islands IPMA; 1st Vice President, IPMA Western Region
